Can be compared to his fellow 1970s generation leader Li Xinran at the CCDI, although Pu has more of an economics background than Li. Can also be compared to Li Xi, who heads the CCDI and is the seventh-highest ranked member of the PSC, as well as Zhao Leji, the former head of the CCDI.
