The China Tech Review is an independent organization whose primary purpose is to publish a journal of interdisciplinary scholarship on Chinese technology, including but not limited to topics related to law, industrial policy, and political economics. In addition, the Review aims to be an effective research tool for foreign investors and diplomats, while breaking the hegemony of English-language scholarship held by universities in the United States.

The organization is independent of any institution; the editor-in-chief, also the founder of CBCRT, make all editorial and organizational decisions and carries out day-to-day operations, just like with the think tank itself. The Review is published monthly from August through June. The Review publishes Articles, Essays, Notes, and book reviews by the editor-in-chief along with outside authors like academics as well as judges and practitioners as well as comments on recent developments related to China tech.
